STRATEGIC PLANNING

Our consultants are often brought in to facilitate the strategic planning process and assist with the development of strategic plans.

Typically, the first step in the strategic planning process is an objective of past and current performance and an honest assessment of progress against the organisation's targets and objectives. This activity often highlights the organisation's achievements and progress made towards stated aims and goals and outlines areas.

In the research process, our consultants gather the views of customers, stakeholders and partners and take on board the perspectives of Directors and staff.

Through facilitation, organisational priorities are identified and an effective strategic plan is then developed. This builds on the organisation's strengths, addresses weaknesses in organisational structures, systems and processes, and takes into account the organisation's capacity and resources.

Finally, we help our clients put in place a programme to communicate the strategic plan to customers, stakeholders and partners.

Case Study

Recently we helped a large technology company develop a clear strategy for its business, in line with its customers’ requirements and supported this company in implementing this new strategy, by aligning its processes, organisation, management, people and culture

The project involved an internal review, which included a strategic, financial, organisational and operational analysis of the position of the business and its capabilities, and an external review, which included customer perceptions of the company (products, service, offering and brand), and the company’s positioning.

Through two workshop sessions facilitated by Giraffe Consulting, the Directors and the Senior Management Team of the company were deeply involved in developing the company’s strategy and a Business Transition Plan. This has provided the platform for organisational change and enabled the company to become a more customer-centric business.
